It's not quite as good as juniors. Riley is Newhook's teammate. For a 7th round pick he looks promising. Even if his future is just a solid Hartford player, that's a homerun for that point of the draft.

I'm guessing BCHL doesn't give a stipend like the bigger junior leagues? I thought once you played Canadian juniors, you were NCAA ineligible.

It's Jr. A, not major junior. It's a step down from the CHL leagues. Occasionally late-bloomers come through there and since they don't get the per diem payments that major junior kids get they're still NCAA eligible.
